At first, Reynold only interfered occasionally in Callisto's dates with Penelope when she came to the palace for the weekend. The young Duke always appeared as soon as his sister had been done with breakfast, and for all sorts of reasons tried to stay with them for at least half a day, or in every way persuaded Penelope to visit the Eckhart estate and stay with them for the weekend.
But everything changed when, after a few years, Penelope and Callisto got married, and Judith was born... Then Reynold began to act covertly and at the same time even more brazenly, using one secret trick.
