“Shouldn't you be resting from your mission? It was a big one.” Suguru supplies the tense atmosphere created by Satoru standing in front of him, unmoving.
“I'm not tired, and anyway, I thought I'd come talk to you.”
What a liar, Suguru thinks as he grasps the soda can a little tighter. Looking up at his friend, he can see how tired he is. Anyone would be after the mission he was sent on. So why hasn't he passed out on his bed already?
“What, did Shoko send you? Why don’t you go to sleep, Satoru? I'm tired too, so I might just head to bed as well.” Suguru responds passively, ignoring the burning in his throat as he looks to his feet.
The cicadas keep screaming. Always screaming.
