Summary
Apollo turned the screen back to himself, cleared his throat, tucking a loose fist behind him into the small of his back and flicking his phone with a flourish.
"Win In Court Blessing," he began, sharp and bold and scornful. He paused, dramatic and scowling, meeting Wright's eyes. Wright raised an eyebrow back, eyes lazy and half closed. Apollo glanced back down to continue.
"Win your court case with the power of spiritual manifestation. Let justice prevail and gain your victory, with mystical help and confidence," he carefully read.
"Didn't think you were into this kind of stuff, Polly," Wright laughed.

Summary
"your hair is getting real long, daddy," trucy tells him sweetly when she turns back to him.
god. it really is. it's been creeping up on him, brushing against the base of his neck, dancing closer and closer to his shoulders. it's the longest its been since he was a kid - since anyone he still talks to has ever seen it. larry's the closest, he saw his half aborted attempts back towards femininity back in middle school; it lasted the length for it to grow from his scalp to his chin before he was sitting on the toilet seat in his friend's house, wailing and bawling his eyes out while larry took scissors to his hair and brought him back to himself.
"hm. i guess it is," is what he says.

Summary
"I am considering buying," Miles begins, holding a cup of tea tightly in his fingers and gripping the phone tucked against his ear, eyes locked in a staring contest with the painting on the hotel room wall, "a collar for Wright."
Maya laughs at him so hard she nearly throws up and he refuses to speak to her for a week.

"Oh! I know! Parent Teacher night!" he smiled at her. Trucy bit her lip.
"Did you get off work?" she asked, voice bright, but her hand gave a twitch, fingers flexing and pressing the pads into his palm. He gave it another squeeze.
"Of course," he said quietly. "Never have missed one before and I don't plan to start now. Besides," he gave a half smirk, "I need to charm all your new teachers."

Daddy is quiet for a long time, eyes fixed on her face.
“Ok,” he says evenly. “Thalassa got the axe. What’s my punishment?”
“It’s not about punishment, Daddy.” Trucy starts the car back up. “You do that just fine all by yourself.”

Summary
"I'm sorry to say this isn't a completely friendly visit." Maya started.
Iris wrung her hands together. "I figured. I don't..." Want to talk about it. About her. Maya can hear it left unsaid.
"We don't have the luxury of not talking about things." Maya leaned forward in her chair. "This family ruined itself over that."

Summary
No, it's not that Phoenix is out of breath--he's playing up his nervousness. Miles feels overcome with the urge to slap him for making him feel such a swell of adoration all at once, and a second, more embarrassing emotion. Unrelated, Miles thinks, how do you talk to your therapist about things like this when she knows you've dreamt about killing your father for most of your life? Yes, that was very terrible--anyway, the man who convinced me otherwise makes my chest ache while doing the STUPIDEST things on Earth--
"...What did you have in mind?"
"Well," Phoenix says, suddenly smooth and casual, "There's this drive-in movie place that's showing some old Steel Samurai movies on Saturday night. You interested?"
