Summary
Pomni has been having dreams about Kaufmo for some reason. It escalates one night, where she dreams of them both on an adventure together, almost as if it were a memory. She puts the pieces together and realizes she is seeing through Ribbit's eyes.
All she needs to do is find out what they mean without letting Caine know she's looking for answers. Somehow, the people who look for answers in the circus are the ones who end up abstracting or going insane. In this world, she doesn't know who to trust.
This would be easier said than done if a misguided Caine didn't put her in a coma for an adventure. Pomni is stuck re-living various events of Ribbit's past in the circus and seeing different versions of Jax.

After one too many brutal adventures leaves Jax and Pomni both cracked open, Jax can’t keep dodging her anymore. The avoidance shatters and they’re stuck in shared silence. In that silence the scariest glitch hits them both, that they actually need each other to keep from falling apart completely.
A very slow burn.

Summary
“Hey Jax..” Pomni starts to call out quietly but upon seeing the back of his shoulders tense further she pauses.
Are you okay? She wants to ask.
But her gut tells her that that might not be the best approach with Jax yet. The memory of him hunched over the buttons console in despair, raw and full of hurt comes unbidden.
“...What is this place?” She asks instead, relieved to see that his shoulders slightly sagged down as if in relief.
Jax cracked one eye open and glanced lazily toward the far wall.
“No idea,” he said. “Just another one of those rooms.”

After the events of episode 7, Jax grows more withdrawn. When Pomni accidentally discovers the room where he’s been hiding, the two form an unexpected bond—and a new kind of trouble that extends far beyond just themselves.

But he can’t simply join them. He needed a new body. To become a ‘human’
And so, he decides to become ‘Abel’ for the day
A day couldn’t hurt, right?
