Galinda and Elphaba met in 7th grade, and after a few weeks of bickering, they became attached at the hip. When they spend every waking second together, Elphaba develops her first true crush on her best friend. Senior year, Elphaba confesses her feelings for Galinda. But when her confession results in an abrupt end to their friendship and leaves vague rejection in her wake, Elphaba has no choice but to let her go.
