Summary
Lo’ak is drowning long before anyone notices. A month of sleepless nights after Neteyam’s death really break his mental, grief turning into silence, silence turning into danger.
He attempts twice, twice he stands on the edge of giving his life back to eywa. The first time he attempts, he just couldn’t do it. The second time, fate is louder than his pain and only thanks to his ilu’s restless cries that pull Jake from sleep, and pull Lo’ak back from a point he cannot return from alone.
Only then does Jake truly see him.
Not just how close he came to losing another son, but he also realizes that Lo’ak, all because of him, stopped valuing life, he stopped believing his own life mattered. Especially to the one person whose approval he chased.
