“Get up.”
Sprawled on the floor, insensate, Daeron tries to get his bearings. The earth outside the inn is cool, cool against his burning face; red from smacking, from alcohol flush, from the fire within. Slowly, he turns his face so that he can see the feet in front of him. His father’s black boots stare back at him, unimpressed. His father is here.
“What have you done with Egg?” Maekar asks, bending down so that his knee hovers just before Daeron’s eye. With one firm hand, he yanks Daeron up slightly off the floor by the collar, as if he were only eight and not eighteen, and his body weighs nothing.(or his father finds him in an inn, and no brother beside him)

She imagines a little house by the river here, with a room for her girls and a room of her own. Dreamfyre would sleep under the stars, unbothered by spectators. For a moment, she wants to imagine a world where she can exist alone, with no servants, no family, not even her sweet ladies. With no help, she would learn to cook, clean, and hunt without a thousand tagging along. They would speak only Valyrian, and people in the nearby farms would name her a witch, as they already did. But there would be an affectionate tone to it, and when their children got sick, they would brave her small underworld and beg her for some ointment. If they were kind, she would give them a tonic of coneflower, learned from her maester as a child. If they are thankless, she would crush some lily of the valley berries and let them clutch at their chests in the privacy of their own homes.

They sit in silence for a moment, as Peter considers everything he has said. When he does speak, his voice is softer than ever.(or the wonderful world of an uncle who opened his arms in the darkest moment)
