Alex stood there, waiting.
Then, he heard a low growl. Three sets of eyes appeared in the darkness – an icy blue, dark brown and eyes of the colour of melted gold. Alex’s breath hitched in his throat. All his ways out were blocked. There was nowhere to run.
Alex didn't move.
As if they heard something Alex didn't, the icy blue and brown eyes disappeared with another growl. Only the golden eyes remained, motionless.

Summary
Whatever he was expecting, it was not what he saw when he finally reached his General. Kenobi was standing in the middle of a spacious cave, illuminated by a blueish light radiating from hundreds of little crystals that grew all around the cave. Cody saw enough holos of the Crystal Caves on Ilum to recognise kyber crystals.
The General turned around and walked further into the cave, jumping around boulders and shiny crystals with unnatural ease. The General obviously had a target in mind because he didn't stop, his brown robes flying around his body with each jump. After a moment, the General slowed down, perched on a little rock ledge. Carefully, he reached out to a nest of shining crystals.
“Sir, don’t-” before Cody could finish that sentence, Kenobi touched the crystal.

Summary
Faramir could feel the tears running down his face as he watched his men fall to the ground, one by one, blood spilling from their mortal wounds. Their blood was on his hands. It was his fault.
“My friend, I promise you that if the Valar grant me more days, I’ll look after your son,” Faramir said, his heart breaking as he made the promise. They both knew that the chances of survival were small the moment they departed from Minas Tirith.
He leaned forward and kissed his friend’s forehead, his tears falling on the soldier’s dirtied skin. As Faramir watched Darindor take his last breath and the grip of his fingers on Faramir’s sleeve weakened, he was hit in the back of his head and his vision turned black as he lost consciousness.

Michael could feel everybody’s eyes on him, watching his every move, judging him for not being able to soothe his own child. He took Nora out of the carrier and turned her over so he could put her closer, rocking her a bit.
He could hear that Manes stopped talking, and from the corner of his eyes, he watched the man as he walked closer to where Michael was sitting. With his free hand, he closed this notebook, ready to pack his things and leave the classroom.
“I’m so sorry,” Michael muttered, wanting for the ground to open up and swallow him. “I’ll… uhm… I’m going to..” he motioned his hand towards the exit.
“May I?” Manes reached out and belatedly, Michael realised he was asking Micheal to hand him Nora. While his expression didn't change, his brown eyes were kind and Michael couldn’t see a hint of annoyance or pity.

With another hit of an asteroid against the external shields, the whole ship trembled at the impact. The red lights filled the room with dim, eerie light. Their repetitive blinking together with the blasting alarm was making Alex’s head pulsate with piercing pain.
“The shields will collapse in seven minutes,” the captain’s loud voice said through the intercom. “Every remaining personnel still aboard, please go to the closest escape pod and report your position to your superior.”
One minute left till the data transfer process was complete.

“Yeah.”
Ilya nods. “I can house-sit while you are away. Make place pretty, if you have decorations. Make it less boring.”
Shane’s eyebrows fly up. “What? You don’t want to come with?”
Finally, Ilya looks up at him. Hesitantly, he asks, “You want me to come with?”
Frowning, Shane says, “I– yeah. Yeah, of course. You think I invited you here just so you could spend Christmas alone?”
Looking away, Ilya shrugs. “I am intruder here, Hollander. You have family. I do not. Makes situation… difficult, maybe. You forget the world thinks we are rivals.”
“Not difficult,” Shane says immediately. “You want to come, you’re coming.”
