I like to call them fortissimo (ff) because both of their first names start with "F" (and I realize this is a weak argument because LOTS of people's names started with "F" but, just roll with me here pls)

And there... there was her brother, lying in the bed she had shared with him and surrounded by flowers of every kind, asleep in a garden of roses. He looked beautiful, eerily so, lying there amongst the petals, dark hair scattered across the ivory pillows beneath his head. He looked like an angel, a real, gorgeously imperfect sort of angel, and there was a look of peace upon his features which hours earlier she would have given anything to see. Fryderyk was gone, but his soul, the black and white thing left there in paper and piano keys - that would live on forever.

Summary
Fryderyk was finally dying, after all the years of surpassing his life-expectancy, and Ludwika felt as though some mornings found her cracking under the pressures of loving a damned soul. She would do anything for him, more than ready to return the favors he had blessed her with so many times, but there was nothing to do except watch as his face twisted and shrank beneath the pain of the mortal world, his body wasting away in preparation to pass into another realm.

wagner just wants to ruin mendelssohn's perfect little life. berlioz just wants a real shot at love. and chopin and mendelssohn just want to be left alone in peace. everyone has a desire of their own, and they will not rest until they have finally gotten what they yearn for.
