"My dearest Shadow Milk, if you wake up before I return, I've snuck some of those jelly candies you liked under your pillow. I know you aren't fond of the IV you've been placed on, but unfortunately, you were severely dehydrated. It seems traditional water intake simply isn't doing it for you, huh?
Oh, but that's not the point! I will be returning shortly after I leave, as I have a meeting to discuss the immigration of cookies living on the outskirts of Beast Yeast. I'm sure you'll have much to add in this discussion, so I'll leave some details for you to decide on.
I'm so sorry for not visiting sooner. I'm sure you understand, but the guilt is eating me up.
I love you very, very much. I apologize if I am not back when you wake up. (which, is why you would be reading this.) I will bring a gift to try and persuade you not to shrink my head to the size of a raisin. I have doubts that it will work, but you're quite considerate nowadays. Please, stay comfortable."

Summary
All things considered, cleaning the library out wasn't a difficult process. Magic made finding the books in need of replacement trivial, and the books themselves were easily stacked into boxes to be donated elsewhere. Shadow Milk enjoyed the back and forth of moving things to their respective piles, shaking out bookmarks and casting simple spells to remove pencil marks. It was a pleasant monotony that he found himself getting lost in.
As much as he likes the guy, it was extra pleasant since Pure Vanilla had been too busy to join him.

"Ah, there you are! Oh, I've been searching for you for such a long, long, long, long time! My, Nilly, you can be quite the tough cookie to find when you want to be!" A shrill voice echoed through the library where Pure Vanilla laid hidden.
At first, there were no tells of where his Beast was, floating and all, but then there was a soft tap, and the clicking of heels inched closer. He's toying with me, Pure Vanilla thought. Breathing as quietly as possible, the Ancient slid his souljam under a desk before shuffling to a different section of the library. Sure, it was playing dirty, but having a glorified tracking device wasn't exactly fair, either.

Summary
Pure Vanilla learned many things about Shadow Milk after they moved in together.
He was good about keeping the toilet seat down, for one. He liked anything with oats and blueberries, was able to be polite when he needed to (requirements: have one of the ex-guardians of the Silver Tree within 10 miles), loved performing in town and was well versed in multiple sign languages. He could also read braille fluently, but Pure Vanilla wasn't sure if that was his own talent, or what he'd gleamed from merging souljams.
Pure Vanilla also learned, a lot later than he'd expected, that the Beast was prone to... Spells, of sorts.
