Namjoon would have recognized the face that entered the meeting room anywhere. A face he’d learnt every nook and cranny of, a face he’d kiss good night and stared longingly at in the morning – craving, wanting, loving. Even if that meant the face he remembered had grown a little older, frown lines making its way between furrowed brows, cheeks a little less plump, hair no longer brightly-coloured but muted. A face hidden behind a mask, but eyes he swore he’d seen the whole universe in.
Eyes that darted away from him the second it met his.

The minute he pulled over, he ran as fast as he could. Fumbling for the keys Jungkook had passed him, he opened the door and searched around the house for him.
But no one was there. Just an empty house.
With tears streaming down his face, he knelt down in utter anguish. Pain. Sorrow. Grief. The words played around in his head as he gripped onto his phone. His eyes glazed over, and with trembling hands he lifted it up to re-read the damned message. “It’s okay, I’ll be okay. I’ll love you forever, Tae. Take care.”

Namjoon goes up to him, his hand circling around Seokjin’s waist as he lays his head comfortably on his shoulders. “What’re you making?”
“Lunch for you. Aren’t you going to the lake today?”
“You remembered,” he smiles.
Seokjin rolls his eyes. Namjoon doesn’t see it, but he sure as hell felt it. “Of course, I do. I’m a thoughtful boyfriend.”
