Summary
Nothing was the same anymore. The bunker was too quiet. It felt like the loneliest place on Earth, actually. Sure, when they originally moved in it had only been the two of them, their footsteps echoing in the sterile halls for what felt like forever. It hadn’t bothered him then; it was still a novelty, having something close to a home. Close enough for them at least. At the time he never could have guessed how much more of a home it would become.

Summary
It was surprising how easy it had been to fall into a routine, as easy as anything. Some days would pass in quick succession, well-oiled by going to work, making dinner, and helping Jack with his homework. Other days, paranoia would creep up on him. He’d go about the day nervous that it wasn’t real, that he didn’t deserve it, that it was all going to crumble around him. But then the next day would come, and the next, and eventually it would abate.
And almost every second of every day, if he paused in his routine to notice, he was grateful.

Richie wonders if it’s always been this hard for him to touch Eddie. It hasn’t; they were incredibly touchy as kids, falling all over each other, gangly limbs intertwined. Even as adults, a few days before, Richie had barely been able to keep his hands off of him. Eddie almost dying did something, though. Chipped away at something deep within Richie. From the bed, Eddie laughs.
