Neuvillette is not the fool Wriothesley must take him for. The shine on his lips. The exhaustion in his eyes. The shortness of breath when he talks too much, too fast. Wriothesley is in love, and it is killing him, as love on Teyvat is wont to do.
He thinks he should like to find this person who has so captured and poisoned Wriothesley’s heart. He should like to mete out judgement against them for destroying such a man, noble and true.
Perhaps Wriothesley knows that, too. Perhaps that is why Wriothesley will not speak of his tormentor.
Wriothesley makes the mistake of falling in love.

Flopping onto the bed, Wriothesley presses his face into his hands. “Fuck,” he groans. “Fuck, I can’t—we didn’t—” But they did. He just fucked Neuvillette. Was just inside the man he’s been in love with for the past five years, and Neuvillette…
He drops his hands from his face to find Neuvillette staring at him with glowing eyes. His pupils are blown wide, circles instead of narrow slits, and his lips curl in a smug, satisfied smile.
“Please tell me you’re back to normal,” Wriothesley says.
After Neuvillette absorbs all the energy of an Arkhe reactor's meltdown, his instincts take control.

Summary
Little should logically connect Neuvillette and Wriothesley, beyond business and paperwork. Each hides behind their own kind of shield, one of distant impartiality and the other of cold humor. They operate in separate worlds, with different tastes, different manners, and vastly different methods.
And yet neither of them can seem to manage such a distant sort of relationship. Their stories continue to intertwine, and without really meaning to, they draw one another in, until their orbits are practically aligned.
Around them, Fontaine’s prophesied demise looms, dragging long buried secrets to light and testing the both of them in the process. As the flood draws nearer, they will have to confront not only this tentative warmth between them, but their own flaws, fears, and wishes as well.

Summary
As the Primordial Sea raged on, Neuvillette knew that with the prophecy in Fontaine coming to fruition, there was but one human he wished to protect over anything else. It was illogical, it was not him being impartial, but for once he wanted to be selfish. He wanted to feel Wriothesley's lips against his own and make sure he would not be lost in the prophecy.
