She should leave it. Yell down to Vash that she's done, that he can get dressed again. She pictures herself trotting downstairs, wriggling past Wolfwood to see what he's cooking today, sneaking bites before he can catch the back of her hand with a spoon.
It'd be just as easy, too, to trail outside after Milly. To squint into the guts of their truck together, to lean against the sunbaked warmth of her arm, oil-flecked and sticky with sweat. Downstairs, she can hear a rattle of activity. Vash must've thought of her plan to bug Wolfwood first—her ears perk against the sound of his laugh, the rising volume of Wolfwood's curses. Meryl takes a deep breath and closes the bedroom door. Locks it for good measure.
