Actually, maybe that's what he needs. Maybe a nice brush with death would soothe him, would rid Griss of this frustration and confusion. It's no fun to knock on death's door without a partner trying to shove you through the threshold, but even Zephia has asked him to behave himself, to stay on the Somniel until he's needed. He can't go to the surface, and nobody on this ridiculous floating island is going to give him what he needs, so Griss is on his own.

Fuck. He has a reputation to keep up, damn it. How would it look if Niles just said no? Anyone else could decline in a heartbeat and suffer no consequences, but the last thing he wants is questions. After all, why wouldn't Niles, of all people, want to take part in some depraved sex mission? By all means, he should just do what's expected of him.
"Oh, I suppose I could oblige," he hums, keeping the utter dissatisfaction out of his voice.

Summary
Louis can't help being fascinated by people. He can't help wanting to reach out and improve their lives in whatever little ways he can.
He also can't help getting attached. Despite everything, he didn't exactly intend on becoming so intimate with the person he's newly fixated on, but he's more than happy to be swept up into it, no matter how perturbed Griss appears to be by the idea of a healthy relationship.

He means to go on, but the stranger's reaction gives Hisoka pause. That silky black hair shifts with a tilt of his head.
"No I didn't," he says plainly.
"... Excuse me? You very much did. ♦︎ You killed a man I was having trouble with, did you not? ♣︎" Hisoka tries to correct him. At his insistence, the stranger seems to think about it for a second, and then he shrugs.
"Oh. Well, I didn't intend to help you," he dismisses, walking past Hisoka. "I don't know who you are and I don't care. Bye."
If he's completely honest, Hisoka has never wanted to follow and hassle a person more in his life. So why resist the urge? He's never been the type to suppress a flight of fancy.

It took both of them a second to realize what happened. Hisoka glanced to his right and realized Illumi wasn't there, then to his left to see none other than himself. The kid tried to attack Hisoka, or his body at least, but he backed off in fear when it defended itself. He called out a name Hisoka didn't quite catch and a buddy of his seemed to bail him out just then, whisking their attacker away in a whirlwind of speed.
They were so fast, and used Zetsu too quickly to be tracked. Since giving chase was pointless, Hisoka took the opportunity to look down at his clothes, and then to run a hand through his now-long hair.
"What an inconvenient time for this to happen," Illumi sighed, using Hisoka's voice. "Today's our yearly family dinner. We should see if we can reverse this..."

This isn't a matter of Hisoka's gain. He's just trying to bother Chrollo as punishment for dodging him for so long. Unfortunately for him, Chrollo isn't easily bothered.
"Fine," he quickly agrees before Hisoka can pivot to something worse. "A date now and a fight later. Does that sum up your reward?"

To Hisoka's shock and immeasurable joy, Chrollo has contacted him out of the blue with an offer. All he has to do is help out with a two-man job and Chrollo will finally fight him. Of course, there's a stipulation that Hisoka must behave himself while on the job, but he's sure he can manage that much.

Summary
Murvrum never asked to participate in this war, just as his people never asked to have it forced upon them. At his weakest moment, as he's truly regretting the life he's been made to live, the enemy surprises him with their mercy... even if he must allow them to take samples from him to be fashioned into bioweapons against his people in return.
Strangely, though, one of those enemies in particular quickly grows very attached to him, and their leader is unexpectedly benevolent. It makes Murvrum wonder if there's been some sort of misunderstanding.

As Doom Incarnate, Moros doesn't typically lay hands on a living thing that isn't already caught in the throes of death, cutting them free from the thusly tangled strings that once bound them to life to send them on their way to the Underworld. He could easily believe everything he touches dies, with that ethic.
Plants, however, are one category of living thing that do not fear and revile him. He thinks he quite likes them, in fact. Starting a garden would also give him an excuse to stay in one place on the surface; all the better for a certain someone to come visit him.

Perhaps the Spawn of Hades would benefit greatly from a scant few obstacles being temporarily removed from her path. Her reaching the peak of Mount Olympus in such a short span of time could change everything. An amusing idea for a trial occurs to Primordial Chaos, and they see about learning to project a perfect imitation of the voice of the Titan of Time in order to set things into motion.

The odds of success versus failure seem irreversibly weighted towards the latter by this point, the Agent of Change proving far too competent. The only thing Prometheus can do to attempt to shift the odds is open up new branches to the future until he finds one that leads to a better world.
Welcoming the unexpected is but one step in the right direction.
