Summary
When Luffy finally came back, NewWorld felt smaller than he remembered. Or maybe it was just that he had grown—not just mentally but physically.
Now, age of 21, he was nothing like the scrawny, reckless teenager Law remembered. He was way taller, broader, more built, his Marine training evident. The baby fat in his face had been slightly replaced with sharp angles, and more manly features (his light stubble being proof), and his once carefree expression had an edge of experience to it.
Law, who had never been so easy to rattle, found himself staring. “You got bigger,” was the first thing Law said looking up at the boy when they saw each other again.
Luffy grinned, that familiar spark in his eyes still there, even if everything else had changed. “You got smaller.”
Law scoffed. “You’re still an idiot.” But there was something different in the way Law looked at him now. And Luffy?
Luffy wasn’t a kid anymore. And he wasn’t going to pretend he didn’t still feel something for his brother’s best friend.
