Evan's expression is cold, calculated, but Ben can spot the insecurity and fear behind it. If Evan killed him right now, he still had to deal with Killian, but if he kept him alive, he might just escape. They both knew it, and it seemed like McCone moved onto the bargaining stage. Fine, Ben wasn't very good at bargaining, but turns out he was good at convincing people, judging by the millions that were rooting for him. And maybe he's taking a huge fucking risk, and it blows up in his face, but eh, who cares? Fuck it, he already made it this far into this madness. So he reaches a hand up, and sees Evan prepare for a hit that doesn't come. Instead, Ben settles his hand on his cheek. Evan blinks at him, confused. Ben takes the chance and rolls them over, straddling Evan. His hand moves down from Evan's face to his chest and pulls him up by his jacket.
"You want me to convince you, McCone?"
