Exhausted and hungry for revenge, Loki returns to Earth, but as he bides his strength, anonymously supplying the Avengers with inside knowledge between his own preparations, he begins to see the true cost of holding on.

    I'm only a little bit through (ch 8ish?) but this bit, among others, cinched the deal that I'm reading the other 200k+ words:

    Yet remembering that he was the universe experiencing itself and that nothing mattered did not change how deeply the universe felt and how strongly it could hurt and he—Loki!—experiencing himself, the universe, began to cry. If nothing mattered then everything mattered. And in this moment everything hurt badly.

    These are the thinky thoughts. The Thinky Thoughts. My brain is insisting that encompasses everything I mean to say. Particles that only exist when looked at, cold just being a slow hum of other particles, and I am doing laundry, barely. The Thinky Thoughts.

    Not entirely poetry, this is a heavy fic, and written to be catharsis for the author. If you've ever dealt with SI/PTSD/+, take care when reading, or choosing not.

    Upon completion: this is HEAVY. Harrowing but cathartic. Arc changes a bit, to be expected, written over a long period of time. A Loki character study. Frostiron is more fwb than romance, you need to be alive to love, but that's fine because the point of this is catharsis. Ending is hopeful. There is softness to be found.

    I started reading this as my reading hyperfixation shifted to darker tones, and more personal issues. Not healthy. This is reading for tough love healing, not reading for funzies. Seeing some of my behaviours plainly written has been challenging but needed and I'm grateful for this reading experience.

    That fight scene was one of the best written fight scenes I have ever encountered. On par with an author-that-was-a-dancer writing a dance scene. The mental visual is absolutely stunning.

    Yes it's a plot what plot, but and yes it was hot but THE FIGHT SCENE. If it had been fade to black, I would still be tagging this "hits the spot" and top tier. Because this was SO DAMN GOOD.

    Great pacing, so many pieces, "page turner", stealer of sleep, and immensely satisfying.
