Summary
The Watchers have a dangerous grasp on the “myth” that is avians and, Xelqua, their prized possession, escaped the hold they had on him. Forced to face how big the world truly was. Haunted by the choices of his past, Grian decides to tackle his inner cowardice and prove he can be more; becoming a vigilante in the process. He'll have to learn the hard way what sacrificing himself really means.
Scar Goodtimes is a world renowned artist with an abundance of love to his name, wanting nothing more than to spread that positivity to others. What else should he do but open up art lessons to amateurs, giving them a chance to love too? If becoming the Hero of the city happened to tag along, well, he isn’t one to complain.
OR: Scar didn’t think avians were enemies but befriending one was proving to be harder than he thought. Grian just wanted to pick up a hobby, not relive all his trauma again.

Unfortunately not from the baby but instead a very apologetic Zed, for not saving her. For failing her and them. Scar wanted to tell him it wasn’t his fault. Wanted to do anything but stare but all he could do was be still as he watched the two loves of his life greet each other, yet not a drop of love could peek through. Only a yearn for what could have been. He mourns what could have been, what should have been, what he couldn’t save.

Scar followed Grian’s eyes down, shuffling the infant closer so his omega could get a better look. “She’s right here, she’s okay.” The corner of his lips twitched up into a gentle, soothing smile. “Do you want to hold her?”
Unable to speak through his mucus filled throat, Grian nodded, outstretching his arms to create space for her. Scar held a hand to her head for support as he placed the baby in the avian’s arms gently.
Content. Affection.
Grian’s muscles melted at the sight of her cooing and babbling in his arms. This felt safe. It felt like home. Him, his mate and his– their baby.
Fanfic of a fanfic, oneshot inspired by the fic "What to Expect When You're Not Expecting" by the one and only ScreamingFanGirl! This oneshot is a continued, days later version of chapter 19 and pretty much just the pure fluff we all would die for. Enjoy!

Summary
Being back on Hermitcraft was exciting, Grian tried to reason. His little girl could finally get to meet the people he cared most about. But, that also meant that she was going to meet Scar. Despite all the prying and willing for some spark of recognition, nobody else could seem to remember the weeks away in that horrible game. The only proof that they weren't some figment of Grian's imagination was the baby snuggled close to Grian's chest. Knowing that Scar could be staring his baby right in the face and wouldn't know she was his brought too many emotions to Grian's head all at once, and he wasn't sure he was ready to deal with the interaction he'd been envisioning for so many months.

tldr; Grian got pregnant after he and Scar do a little more than team up on Monopoly Mountain. Too bad only the winners of the life games seem to remember what happened in any of them. -
