Summary
It's been a decade since Szeryn fled Baldur’s Gate and the confusing haze of memories it holds. Despite having no desire to return, while acompanying their mentor to the city, they are suddenly plucked from the wilderness and captured on a Mind Flayer's ship. And being kidnapped by Mind Flayers is only the second-worst thing to happen to them.
Looming shadows of a past they hardly remember begin to haunt their dreams as they get closer to piecing everything together, and Szeryn begins to have a very bad feeling of where this journey will lead them.

Summary
Astarion, an equally traumatized Tav (Szeryn), and Wyll Ravengard, Pride of the Gate, dance around each other, self-sabotaging impulses, self-loathing, and all of their old demons. Wyll finally gets to kill a vampire, Szeryn is dragged kicking and screaming into something resembling self-care, and Astarion finds himself uniquely equipped to parry the self-sacrificial urges of two handsome heroes.
Or: three traumatized gay people fall in love, negotiate a relationship, and learn to trust the people who care for them.
