Link hesitates, as usual. He carefully crafts his words, tasting them on his tongue, which is why you almost choke when he eventually spits them out.
"Will you follow me?"
The words feel more intimate than an embrace, more than an 'I love you.' They're an invitation, A proposal. You don't even hesitate in your response.
"To the end of time." You swallow. "To the end of the Earth."
His eyes widen, lips parting like he almost doesn't know what to say, but he does, high-pitched and breathless.
"You're crazy."
"Crazier than you? I highly doubt that."

A story in which you, an emotionally troubled traveler, cross paths with a young and dangerously handsome hero in a horrifically inconvenient way. Because of this, you end up with literally nowhere else to turn besides this attractive stranger's home. You'll come to find out this stranger is more important than anything else you've experienced in your entire almost 18 years of life, both literally and emotionally. Too bad he's batshit insane with an unshakable drive that comes off as a death wish. Oh well, you'll follow him anyway. To the end of time.

Summary
Viktor easily sees it on Jayce when they're near, scientifically. The way his pupils dilate when he looks at him, the seemingly constant flush in his face, and, of course, the constant compulsion for physical touch. It's a shame Jayce's scientific expertise does not lie in physiology, maybe then he'd be able to read Viktor's love for him on his face like a book, just as he can him.
Though, he supposes it also works in his favor.
Surely then he'd also be able to read the sickly tinge in Viktor's skin, the worsening, aching pain that plagues him daily, the hollow sinking of his flesh over his eye sockets, all of it, for what it is. Make no mistake, Viktor is dying.
(Aka the one where Viktor distances himself from his partner to avoid devastating him with his impending death. Angst ensues.)

“What?” Jean asks, half in a daze.
Jeremy swallows. “You said yes. To Allison. When she asked if you’re going to marry me.”
This seems to get Jean’s attention. “Of course I said yes.”
“That means you want to,” says Jeremy. “You want to marry me.”
“Jeremy.” Jean is looking at him as if he is stupid. And, well, perhaps Jeremy is a little stupid. “We have been together for eight years.”
Truthfully, Jeremy has been thinking about his and Jean’s wedding since his fifth year at USC.

And yes, Jean is familiar with loss, the sometimes celebration of it, the otherwise engulfing grief of it. But this: Jeremy sitting in a heap on his living room floor, Jabberwocky Moreau cuddled into his lap, tail lazily wagging? This is something he’s tired of losing, the microdose of his absence—the threat of it being whole if he keeps this up.
He waits for the “I can’t,” braces for it like it’ll land a physical blow. But it comes quietly, softly in the way Jeremy’s knuckles stop behind Jab’s ear; the sudden halt that hits right before the prolonged absence.
“I want to.”
