“Go, away,” Jason pants out, not looking up but he knows its Dick entering, like he owns the place, or Jason won’t shoot him on sight.
“Little wing?” Dick asks again, apparently ignoring him.
Jason groans in frustration and pulls out one of the guns on his belt, pointing it at Dick. It’s a weak attempt and they both know he won’t shoot, but god does he want to sometimes. He wants to be left alone.
“Said, go away,” Jason grits angrily, he’s having trouble breathing now, this isn’t good.
Dick eyes the gun slightly, but his expression is too relaxed for someone with a gun pointed to his head. Jason groans and throws it to the ground frustrated. Stupid Dickhead doesn’t think Jason won’t shoot him.He might.
He probably won’t, but he might.
- The one where Jason gets shot protecting Robin and has to be taken to the manor to be cared for. Just a look at the relationship between Jason, Bruce and his brothers. Pure and chaotic fluff, hurt and comfort.

Summary
Dick arrived much later on Friday evening than planned, and he looked tired. Honestly, he looked more than tired, but Alfred said it was rude to point out when people looked sick to their face. So despite the heavy bags under the older boy's eyes and red cheeks, Jason smiled politely when Dick entered, refraining from mentioning anything to Dick. Dick smiled warmly at him, ruffling his hair that he spent hours trying to get to look half as effortless as him, but the glint wasn't there.

Ryan purses his lips. “If you hadn’t outed me, the Entity wouldn’t be trying to kill us. I can’t even fucking die in peace, Naim, because I’m terrified that this thing will kill you, too.”

Summary
Ryan’s head hasn’t stopped swimming with thoughts– he wants to say so much, and ask so many questions, even if he’s scared of the answers. More than anything, he wants to apologize profusely. But what he thinks about now is the inevitable dread of splitting up to their houses when they get back– the cold night and colder house with people who don’t speak to him before he goes to bed anymore.
He thinks back to the mill. He doesn’t know if anything will ever be like that again.
Plus, Naim’s gaze puts any coherent thoughts out of his head. Naim’s gaze darting to his lips, and back, and moving towards him feels like some siren call. And he's not really well equipped to deal with resisting that.
Or: The hospital scene + the bus scene, but from Ryan’s point of view.

“Naim!”
A hand clamps down on his wrist and Naim’s brain flatlines. He doesn’t so much decide on his next actions as he does feel himself, all at once, curl his fist, spin on the balls of his feet, and punch Not-Ryan as hard as he can in the cheek. Wild-eyed and breathing erratically, Naim hears the entity shout in pain, watches it stumble back, and he freezes.
3 times they hurt each other, and 1 time they manage not to.

“You’re okay, it’s okay, just another nightmare.” Ryan pulled him into a hug, holding the back of his head tenderly to keep him in place. For the first time ever, Naim wept in his arms. His hands wrapped themselves in Ryan’s shirt while he panted into the skin of his neck. Like he needed tangible proof that Ryan was with him, that he was safe.
“My m-mum fucking left me alone, I-I didn’t know what to do so I just went to you but it wasn’t you and-” Naim cut himself off with a weeping cry.
“It’s over, it's over, you're safe.”

Summary
Ryan shuffled against the mattress, pulling them together until they ended up in a mess of limbs, their legs tangled together and Ryan’s arms wrapped around his waist. Ryan’s hands slipped beneath Naim’s shirt, pressing against the bare skin.
Pulled flush against Ryan’s chest, Naim felt every slow, steady rise and fall against his back; as if each breath Ryan took also belonged to Naim. Like Ryan was breathing for the both of them.
A soft hum escaped Naim’s throat. It was so, so warm. He could let himself fall, and fall, and keep falling. Ryan would be right there to catch him.
If he pressed even closer—close enough to crawl under Ryan’s skin and make a home within the space within his chest, Naim was sure he’d feel the pulse of Ryan’s heart beating for him, too.
Naim can’t fall asleep.

“Get out of the car,” Ryan says. “Now.”
He can’t bear to look at Naim, knowing what he’s done. Knowing that because of him, he’ll be cursed forever.
“Okay.” Naim’s voice is barely above a whisper.
The world is eerily quiet, the obsidian darkness of the night broken only by the flickering streetlamps. The click of Naim’s seatbelt unlatching sounds deafening in the silence. Ryan stares straight ahead at the empty street. It’s all he can do not to break down. Anger boils beneath his skin, hot and poisonous, but worse than the anger is the betrayal. Excruciating. Heartbreaking betrayal. Naim had told on him and Hunter.
He had gotten Hunter killed.
“Naim.” Ryan’s voice breaks the silence.
He can feel the tension hanging between them. He can almost feel the hope in Naim as he turns away from the half-open door, as though he’s holding his breath, waiting for Ryan to say something that might make this okay.
“If you see anything that looks like me, don’t go near it.” His voice is cold. “It will never be me.”

“It’s a sin,” Naim adds, voice thick.
“Maybe,” Ryan says. He thinks about the bible, about his nana’s angry face when she caught him kissing the neighbour’s son. He thinks about the scars on his back from his dad’s belt, about the weight of the deliverance healer’s hand on his head, about gluttony and lust and the way Naim tasted when they’d kissed.
He thinks about Naim’s lips, soft and willing. He thinks about the first time a boy pushed him on his back, thinks about a rosary gripped in his fist, sobbing and choking on his damnation.
Maybe it is a sin. Maybe he is damned, and he damned Naim in the process. But fuck, Ryan is sick of denying himself that in which he wants. And as he runs his thumb over the apple of Naim’s cheek, he wants.

Naim’s stomach churns. He curls towards Ryan, shifting onto his side, as Ryan’s gaze lands on him, piercing. He shakes his head.
“Good,” Ryan says, lifting the cigarette to his mouth.
Naim thinks of photobooth pictures, of hot blood trickling down Ryan’s neck, of flame and fear. He presses a soft kiss to Ryan’s side, over his ribs, over the soft cotton of his shirt, and inhales his scent.

Fingertips coated in wood-dust, Ryan's thumbs slid uselessly across the glass. He squinted against the burst of pain behind his eyes from the sun's reflective glare, swiping his thumb along the bottom of the screen in the general area his muscle memory dictated would give him what he wished. A single ragged sob echoed over the line.
