Summary
Four years after Castiel is subsumed into the Empty, he returns just in time to snatch Dean from certain death at the end of a rebar spike. Dean had never expected to see his best friend again, and had made his peace with Castiel’s death and tried to move on. Or so he thought. Castiel’s return gives them both a second chance at the love they lost—if Dean can get past his complicated feelings, if Cas can withstand the transition he’s undergoing, and if either of them can survive the one last (?) case that Team Free Will takes on together (for old time’s sake and a mini-vacation) at Temple Heights Spiritualist Camp in Maine—a case that holds eerie and tragic parallels to their own love story.
The characters in this story may be fictional… but Temple Heights is real.

Summary
This is the first piece involving smut I have ever posted and my first fanfiction work in at least five years. Destiel gave me the courage and the inspiration to write again, and I am very excited to share my work with all of you. Fanfiction is a great opportunity for me to practice writing and find my style/voice, so any feedback you may have to offer is greatly appreciated.
The story begins with Dean Winchester relaxing alone in the middle of a starlit field. There's beer, music, and Baby, but there's still something missing, and he calls out to Castiel on a whim.

Summary
Dean and Cas are fresh off a case and on their way home when a call from Sam sends them on a detour to Kingston Falls, Pennsylvania. Something is plaguing the small town, and its denizens, almost exactly forty years after they barely survived an outbreak of… well, no one can quite agree what it was. Some say “gremlins,” others say some are out of their minds, but Dean and Cas are determined to get to the bottom of it, like they always do. Maybe they’ll also figure out what they mean to each other, along the way.
