  Summary

  In this world of mythical creatures and magic, every teenager in the five kingdoms waits for the day they turn eighteen when they take part in an annual ceremony. There they will be told the animal they can magically turn into and given their color. However, when an eighteen year old Rosaline Smith takes part in the ceremony, she will learn a secret about who she truly is that will force her to join a hidden side of the world that she'd never imagined she'd experience. She will meet and see people that will open her eyes to the horrors caused by the war: changed appearances, trauma, dead families, and an entire new social group and species. The people she meets will become her closest friends, mentor, and maybe even her lover. She will have experiences that will change her for the better and for the worst. With the help of her new friends, maybe, she can win back the kingdom and end the war once and for all.
