Tyler’s heart took a tumble, skipping a beat as he tried to contain himself from making any sort of audible reaction. He quickly pressed the mute button on the call screen. The world felt heavier on his shoulders. His lungs could’ve been made of lead, as they too felt like the heaviest thing any human could hold inside of themselves before they crumbled into a million pieces on the floor. A shaky breath escaped his lips, unsure of what to even say. He quickly pressed the unmute button, faking confusion to mask his ongoing heartbreak. “Sorry man, I think you’re cutting out a bit. What was that?”
