Summary
When Kyouji didn’t contact him after the karaoke competition, all Satomi could feel was relief. That was over, he thought to himself, and now he could worry about the problems that truly mattered. The problems a fourteen year old should have: what to wear for graduation. Studying for entrance exams. Making sure the club would run smoothly once he was gone.
But then he remembered he’d left a smoking crater where his spot in the chorus club had been. He remembered the last box of mouldering strawberries, fuzzy-white and stinking sickly-sweet under his desk. He’d eaten all but one box, which he’d kept like some sort of memento until it was reduced to inedibility.
After eleven years of estrangement, Oka Satomi finds himself sitting at an interrogation room table across from one Narita Kyouji. He finds himself turning back into that fourteen year old clinging to a decaying box of strawberries.
A set of increasingly unlikely coincidences may have smashed them back together, but id and impulse do the rest.

But this morning, Satomi awoke half-sick and weak. He had class — mock exams. It wasn’t exactly skippable material. He rose from his futon, showered under the — cooler than usual? — spray, brushed his teeth. Had a mild breakfast. Pounded down a pair of ibuprofen and tylenol each (a nursing student he did a group project with last semester had cheerfully told him that’s what she did every time she got sick, and it seemed impressively efficient). Satomi walked out the door.
And stepped into his apartment.
Satomi blinked. Maybe he was just dizzy, or had lost his footing. He turned around, opened the door, and stepped out.
And instead of the outdoors, was greeted by his half-rolled futon, his tiny kitchenette.
Satomi was stubborn. He tried it another, then five more times. By the end he was red-faced and sweaty. His glasses slipped down the bridge of his nose as he leaned forward to wheeze. “Do you mind,” he growled, into the empty apartment.
The floorboards groaned.

If Kyouji stepped foot in there after Satomi had spent multiple weeks fantasizing about Kyouji doing all sorts of stuff to him on pretty much every surface of his apartment he’d probably explode. Lacking the ability to admit that, Satomi instead said, “It’s always so hot at my place this time of year. The windows face the sun while it sets.”
“Alrighty,” Kyouji said brightly. Satomi was surprised, albeit glad, that Kyouji didn’t push him on his obvious lie. “Let’s go, then.”

Summary
Vash has the lung capacity of a man who’s cried for 150 years.
It isn't like Wolfwood takes more than he gives — but like with most things, he barely keeps up with Vash. He works his body to the limit, even as his lungs burn and his legs and arms give out under him. They fuck like they’re on borrowed time.
All of this makes it so easy — so much easier than just talking. Wolfwood would sometimes rather pull new and interesting noises from Vash with just his mouth than do anything else with it. Their own dialect: moans, groans, and four words. “Yes” — “Please” — “Vash” — “Wolfwood.”
