“Your-” Jayce blinks, coughing a little. “I- Viktor, your cane is right behind you.”
Viktor raises an eyebrow. “So?”
“So-” Jayce closes his mouth with a click. Something about Viktor’s face- usually so open and expressive- makes him think that questioning him further won’t really be a good idea.
With a sigh, he does as he’s told, leaning forward to pull Viktor’s cane out of the small crevice between the desk and the wall. He holds it out to him.
“Good,” Viktor says, nodding in approval. “Now grind on it.”
