Summary
When Wei Wuxian is captured and brought to Golden Carp Tower following the second massacre at Qiongqi Road, Lan Wangji makes a bold play to protect him: he claims Wei Ying as his secret husband, and insists on a full investigation into the matter. Wei Ying, never one to see a hole in front of him and not choose to keep digging, decides to add on one little salacious detail: he's pregnant.
The problem: both the marriage and the baby are entirely fictional, and the eyes of all the clans are now on Cloud Recesses, which means that one slip-up could mean ruin for both Lan Zhan and Wei Ying. Worse, someone is definitely scheming to steal the Yin Tiger Tally, and they don't care who they hurt in the process. To save themselves, protect the Wens, and possibly save the entire jianghu, Lan Zhan, Wei Ying, and their allies will have to uncover the schemer, prove their guilt, and maybe clear Wei Ying's name in the process.

Summary
The original goal of this new talisman was to act as a more hands on way to repel resentful beings. It was supposed to push any ghoul or pesky creature far enough to give cultivators more space if they felt cramped during a fight. Technically, it worked perfectly. The problem stemmed from the fact that Wei Ying and Lan Zhan had been unfortunately positioned between half a dozen corpses and a nice, sheer, cliff face.

Wei Wuxian’s head lolled back against Lan Wangji’s shoulder behind him as he let out a faint and content sigh.
It was late, well past when Lan Wangji would normally have headed to bed. The only light in the room was the warm glow of the lantern on the desk in front of them, illuminating the hunt notes that Lan Wangji would have graded earlier if Wei Wuxian hadn’t seduced him into bed immediately after their return from dinner. It was a chilly autumn night, and Wei Wuxian was naked, but he had found the warmest seat possible in Lan Wangji’s lap.

When Wei Wuxian realizes how strange it is that Lan Wangji is the only disciple from his sect at the Wen Sect's indoctrination, he puts together a haphazard plan to get punished with him and get some time alone to talk to him--only to get punished again when Wen Chao catches him mid-conversation attempt. At first, Wei Wuxian laughs off getting shoved into the empty dungeon, but he soon notices that some strange scent in the room is making him go into heat, which is a twist that Wei Wuxian doesn't understand. It's only when a rutting Lan Wangji gets shoved into the room with him that Wei Wuxian realizes Wen Chao's idea for punishing him is far more demented than he could have imagined. (canon divergent from The Untamed, episode 12)
