Summary
The few weeks since Suchdol have been kind, and Hans finds it hardly even bothers him now. It’s little more than an irritation. The bone-deep fear of the siege is now thoroughly overshadowed by warm, indulgent days of eating, drinking, fucking. He could dredge it all up, all the dread and despair, but why would he? Why wouldn’t he let it lie and simply enjoy the last hazy summer days, here with Henry?

Summary
In the year 1415, people don’t talk much about sir Hans Capon anymore. The topic of the remaining heir to Rattay and Polná has been avoided by many. These days, it’s brought up only by the few that must remember him from some bygone time, from before his premature withdrawal from the political scene. If anything, many are quite surprised to learn that he is still alive. Henry, who’s ever been chasing only one thing in life, could not care less about the lord so little is known of today. He doesn’t concern himself with ghosts. That is, until he learns that this very thing he’s been looking for, pursuing for years, might have come into possession of said man. And, coincidentally, Henry may have just found a good excuse to get close to him and execute his plan.

Summary
The fortified walls of Trosky castle hide many thrills. One thrill happened right after the feast, when Henry dared to explore a newly found part of himself: the air was heavy with the smell of lavender oil and the brandy they shared—him and Black Bartosch, the dark, fascinating knight.
The second thrill happened later. As the knight promised to teach Henry the very basics of the fencing craft: the deeply-rooted idea that sometimes you need to learn how to yield into the other warrior's masterful charge. Guide his blade away—receive it, softly and surely, and delight in the art of yielding.
