Tomi turned into her bowl and began picking at the strawberries. “I could give you a massage,” she said between bites.
Nenji nearly swallowed his spoon.
A laugh rose from Tomi. “Are you choking because it’s a good or bad-”
“A good idea- great, even,” his voice caught in his throat, exposing his excitement.
“Aw, you wanna get out of work that bad?”
“Somethin’ like that,” Nenji was most certainly not letting his mind wander with the prospect of Tomi all over him.
When his terrible, no good posture finally catches up to him, Tomi offers to help Nenji with a back massage.

Poking a straw into her drink, Tomi took a long sip. "How'd you get me here anyway?"
"I carried you."
Tomi almost choked.
“What.”
“Oh my god, I’m kiddin’,” Nenji held a hand up in mock defence. “I helped you walk here.”
Tomi narrowed her eyes, still unconvinced.
"We had to stop every now and then, but you were damn insistent on walkin' here," Nenji said, brows knitted together. "You don't remember that?"
After a stumble in the cafeteria, Tomi wakes up to a familiar face in the nurse's office.

"Letter?"
Tomi giggled. "Y'know, the one that Miwako told me about." There's a lilt to her voice, and Nenji wonders how such an innocuous question could bring out damn heart palpitations.
Oh.
"Oh, that one," Nenji tried to remain unbothered, "Nothin' much, why do you care?"
While trying to piece together what has been happening, Tomi asks a seemingly simple question.
Nenji offers a troubling answer.

"You gonna... elaborate?"
"Y-y'know, like, share," she continues, "the jacket, that is."
Within the wreckage of a bus stop, Tomi and Nenji have a breather.
