This hurt and swelled all the same. From the focus on Jeongguk's journey through and away from a toxic relationship to the comfort found in the simplest of places. Like a radio station studio, with its year-old post-it notes and all.
Loved the depiction of Jeongguk, loved the subtle signs that Yoongi was falling for him- love that Jeongguk had thoughts of how wonderful Yoongi was from very early on, but that doesn't mean you accept your feelings or realize them right away.
And the patience. The love.... Muah!

Yoongi turns so that he’s laying on his side, only to find Jeongguk already staring at him. It’s a bit hard to see him in the minimal light, but Yoongi can make out the general outline of his face.
He nods, and Jeongguk stills.
There are a few moments of silence before Yoongi hears him speaking again.
“What does my voice sound like?”
(Or, Jeongguk is deaf and Yoongi just kind of wants to give him the world.)

Summary
But what really amazes Taehyung are the paintings on his skin. It is difficult to ignore them. They are red flowers characterized by thick green stems; some leaves seem to stretch the roots over the throat of the young student. The designs are not simple drafts. Each petal has its own life on his skin, as if they were shaken by the wind, and the darker veins are hypnotic. Taehyung would like to get even closer, more and more until he can touch the roughness of the painting and kiss – yes, kiss the skin rich in art and history. Because Taehyung recognizes those stains, recognizes that among those brushstrokes, there is a story and – oh, how good would it be to also hear the painting sing?

It's a fic I hold close to my heart.
It's a story about paint and flowers. They boys are soft and fragile to the touch, and where paint dries up and sheds like skin, the flowers grow in between the cracks and heals the hurt.
Sometimes, bricks falling apart build castles for the small people who find comfort in the weeds on the cobblestone.
Heart-breaking and wounding. Beautiful.
