Don’t follow the wind, don’t go through the door with no perceivable exit, and don’t question the mayor. This is the Blood Gulch Radio Show, and you can go fuck yourself!

Summary
The sun sets and the sun rises and Simmons keeps on breathing and Grif keeps on sitting next to him, with complaints on his lips and eyes that see a whole lot more than Simmons is comfortable with. The rain falls and the stars throb and the sergeant shouts and the rookie smiles and the ships explode and the bullets are traded and the maroon guy hangs over the dying orange guy and they stare and stay and stay together with their hands on each other's chest plates and their eyes closed.
The title comes from 'Change is Everything' by Son Lux. I found the song while writing this and was immediately in love with everything about it.

Summary
Simmons’ mom is sobbing, screaming something about how cutting his hair and wearing different clothes won’t make him a boy and that Simmons can’t do this right now, not when she’s started dating a nice man who seems like he’d stick around, and Simmons’ response is muffled, but Grif can hear the strain in his voice, the way his pitch rises and shakes, the way Grif knows Simmons hates because it makes him sound like a girl and he’s not that.
Edit: Changed title from "It Happens" to "Hooped Earrings"

Summary
Spider Lily Baytown is a mouthful, and close to two hours out of the nearest big city. It’s quiet, the sidewalks are a sandy color, the sun bakes the clay soil in the summer; and during the off-seasons, the town clears out to just the residents, leaving it empty with an echo of waves down Main Street.
