Summary
"Uh, I'm not really a fan of eating out." Technically, it wasn't completely a lie. "I don't like restaurants much." He blurted out again before he could hold himself back, regretting the words the moment they were out of his mouth. "It's not as if I'm against them particularly, but y'know, I — uhm, I am a picky eater, you could say."
If he hadn't succeeded in coming across as weird to Seonghwa before, he was certain that particular milestone was achieved now. Why would Seonghwa even care that he had a rather peculiar palate? He could've made some lame excuse to get out of it, probably something about having work, or some other personal commitment. Anything would have sufficed. Anything but this, probably.
"Oh." Seonghwa's eyes dropped to the multiple packs of instant noodles and a lone bottle of ketchup in the cart, the corners of his mouth drooping into a frown.

Hongjoong lives a rather uneventful life by the sea as a lighthouse keeper before he meets Seonghwa, who simply refuses to tolerate his absurd eating habits as a professional chef.

Summary
Hongjoong had been in love with Seonghwa for as long as he could remember. He had first seen him at just the shy age of seven, in his uncle’s academy, with his hands wrapped too tightly around the handle of a sword so polished that it could only indicate the presence of a future monarch.
They had grown up together, in the intricate hallways of the vacation house Seonghwa’s father owned in their Kingdom, in the flower fields located just behind the estate, by the banks of the river that flowed through the woods. They had shared their first kiss on the night of Seonghwa’s eighteenth birthday by the same river, too, under the warm and careful gaze of the moon.
No one but the moon knew they had kissed, and Hongjoong was far too giddy with that information to even notice how Seonghwa had never once let go of him that night.
With the light of the following day’s sun, however, Seonghwa was gone, back to his own Kingdom without so much as a word. And Hongjoong was left all alone, with no one to cry his heart out to but the moon.

Summary
Life had been anything but kind to him. With a good-for-nothing mother who had surrendered her whole being to lethal substances, North had lost all hopes of ever experiencing serenity. He had since long accepted that his life would always be spent in this pathetic loop of misery and desolation.
And so naturally, when he was suddenly rewarded with a freckle of sunshine in his otherwise hopeless routine, he figured it was the universe giving him back whatever it had taken away from him – like a compensation of sorts.
He really hadn’t expected this freckle of light to be this fleeting, this momentary.
Or
North finally finds solace amidst a burning tempest but it’s just his luck that his sanctum is as transient as a falling star in a night full of blinking stars.

Summary
The concept of graves had always been fascinating to him, even as a bright-eyed child with a conscience as fragile as a feather. To bury one’s soul in wet earth, to finally allow them the luxury of a time spent without ceaseless worries and woes, to allow beings to appreciate an unknown void more than the life they had led – all of it seemed so heavy yet a little relieving.
For all he knew about suffering, one thing for sure is that it never ends. When you take your last breath, you struggle for your life, and when you live, you ache for an end to it all.
It’s an intricate paradox. Death ends it all, and life, somewhere along the line, ends you.

Li Ming lives out his life in flashes of blues and yellows, with nothing in between. Sometimes, the yellow overpowers the blues to form the most perfect green, something so redolent of soft grass that dances to the tunes of life. Most of the time, however, the blue ruins everything; an amalgamation of dirt and torn grass that welcomes the wet earth in all its essence.

“Do you need a ride?” The man asks, gentle, like there is room to say no, like there is room to tell him to fuck off and he would, no questions asked.
“I— yes,” Wooyoung whispers, whimpers as his voice cracks — “I-I don’t even know where I am. I’m trying to head North, but I think I’m farther South than when I started — the last guy, I think he turned around at some point, I—” Wooyoung takes a sharp breath, fighting to keep his voice steady, or at least from crumbling completely. “I just want to go home.”

Summary
Although North’s species aren’t known for shape-shifting, Night is still unsure how much of North is himself and how much he has plucked from the depths of Night’s mind. Even the name he’s adopted for the ship’s crew he took from Night’s memories of looking at the sky and wishing upon a star to bring his sister home.
