[...] Down the hallway towards his room Azriel shuffled, eager for a hot, steaming, *searing* shower. Maybe tonight… maybe this time… he would be able to wash away his sins from not only his body but his soul as well… if he still had any remnants of a soul left, that is…"I haven't written in years. But, after two margaritas, my creative juices started flowing... that or my insecurities have been drunk away into silence.
Regardless, I was planning on making this a Gwynriel short story based on the shower scene between Hunt and Bryce from Chapter 54 of 'Crescent City: House of Earth and Sky'.

The two share a quiet moment and Azriel helps her work through a few things she hasn't fully processed after she asks him about the scars on his hands.
'There’s an odd sense of compassion to the shadowsinger, one she isn’t sure others pick up on. She’s heard them whisper about how cold he is, how distant, how empty. Unfeeling. Emotionless. Dead inside. She had heard those things whispered behind her back too. They had bothered her once. She was not devoid of emotion, rather she felt everything too much but...But she had never known how to show it, how to put it into words, how to make others understand. The one piece of Azriel that Gwyn never second-guessed were his shadows, who were drawn to her, comforted her, adored her. They seek her out without their master, becoming increasingly bold around her. And Gwyn is finding out that she might like it.
