But no, he had to be cute, and powerless. He might as well have been a butterfly.

It felt poetic, for Namjoon's self-imposed exile to be so hackneyed and dramatic. He was, after all, a cliché: a vampire tortured by guilt at having to kill to survive, but nevertheless going through with it. So he had decided to lean into the stereotype of it all, and had bought himself a fucking castle to haunt.

In any case it was an interesting one, and a difficult one, and that was why he had to do a good job, because he might actually be able to help some people, those families, and... not least of all because nobody else was looking here, not yet, which made this a huge scoop. Potentially.

Namjoon blinked. There was Hoseok’s pretty little foot, red in places from where his shoe had pressed against it, and looking very exposed in a way that Namjoon knew it wouldn’t if they were all just walking around barefoot. It was the fact that everyone else was wearing shoes, and that it was just one foot, and that Namjoon had asked for this little bit of undressing in public, and Hoseok had done it. That made it feel more like Hoseok’s foot was naked, like it had been disrobed, and made Namjoon have to stop himself from dropping to his knees to kiss it, to drag his lips from his arch to the hollow inside his slender, well-formed ankle.

Jimin is the perfect roommate. He’s quiet. He barely speaks, actually, and he never listens to music or anything. He’s clean. He doesn’t leave his belongings lying around. He doesn’t leave his room too often, for that matter. And when he does, he never bothers Hoseok to turn off whatever drama he’s watching. He even cooks half the time, and he does the dishes the other half of the time. He never hogs the bathroom.
But there’s one problem. Hoseok’s roommate isn’t the real Jimin, not anymore. The real Jimin is gone. And Hoseok’s roommate is a monster.

It is what it is.” He pulled Namjoon closer so he could lean his forehead against the soft muscle of his stomach. This was warm.
