    Summary

Rosamund and Astarion have more in common than she knows, and currently, she knows absolutely nothing.

Rosamund Sidhe knows that something wicked lives inside her, and it's not the tadpole. When unexpected feelings for a certain vampire make surviving even more complicated, she must learn how to accept the haunting realities of who she has become.

It's not about fixing him, or fixing her; it's about being seen. Every part of them, especially the ugly.

This fic is canon-divergent, so while it follows the tentpole plot points of the game, sweeping changes and additions are made to suit the story and its characters.

    Summary

“Oh, gods forbid they respond positively to you doing a good thing,” Neve deadpans. She squeezes him a little again. “That’s sort of how it works, Astarion.”

She can’t even see it. Believes the best of them all so earnestly, himself included, that she can’t see how it would all fall away without her at the center. It’s enough to make a person feel like they might actually deserve it.

“And by it, you mean…?” he asks instead.

Her huffed laugh of disbelief ruffles the hair at his neck. “Friendship, you idiot,” she answers. “And the general acquisition thereof.”

Astarion cuts a sideways look at her as best he can with her still nestled so close. “And is that what we are? Friends?”

He’d meant it to tease her, and yet finds that the silence before her answer twists his stomach. Because…he doesn’t actually know, either.

“Yes, Astarion,” Neve says gently, after a moment. “I think we’re very good friends.”

    -

Neve and Astarion, continued. She's not a victim. Not a target. Not just one night it's better to forget. But then...whatever in the world could she be?

The secret to surviving is simple. It’s the execution that poses problems.

    Don’t die.

    It’s that easy.

auri knows people, and that's how she can tell; astarion is deeply, deeply fucked up.

    Summary

It's done. Cazador is well and truly gone, Astarion is finally a free elf and his first desire is to give all that's left of his body and soul to the one who saved him from his master and himself.

Not out of need, but of want. He wants his Zélie so bloody (pun intended) much that he takes her to his grave, and on top of it too.

So when she leaves him behind, when she realises Cazador is only one of the endless troubles plaguing him and her human life is too short to fix even a fraction of those, he breaks. Like the pathetic child he's always been.

    Summary

They were wildly, disgustingly in love and it so completely consumed him he thought the feeling would never end. But then, of course, the day he felt most deep in contentment was the day he realized what he had tried to run from had already slithered back into its old well-worn burrows. Had molded over his bright new happiness.

Because how could Astarion be happy?

    __

Four months after the defeat of the Netherbrain, Astarion finds himself stuck in the mire of his past and all the anger and despair that comes with it. While wrestling with her traveling-companion-turned-lover’s misery, Cat makes an impulsive decision that sets off their first falling-out. This post-game short story is told alongside the in-game story of the evolving relationship between Cat (the not-a-bard) and Astarion (needs no introduction) which varies from canon. Told from both POVs.
