Summary
Adam said deal. The same deal Lawrence made when he was allowed to live. But what Lawrence didn’t expect was that Adam wouldn’t be grateful for this opportunity. And that’s what ticks Lawrence off. Most people are so ungrateful to be alive—Lawrence certainly is grateful. He feels absolutely nothing when he wakes up in his expensive, empty apartment—but he is grateful to be there nonetheless.
Lawrence wants to give Adam another chance at life—he survived, he deserves it. But Adam's not really buying into "the work."
