Tyler didn’t know what to say the first time he saw Kate’s scar, so he said nothing. It was an accident that he’d seen it at all (he definitely knocked on the motel door before opening it, it was Kate’s fault she hadn’t heard) so he ignored it.
The second time Tyler saw Kate’s scar was a little more, well, intense.

Summary
Instead of bittersweet memories, Kate had Tyler, the (former) bull rider she’d been wishing for since she was twelve. She had the family they built together.

It was hard for Mike to change his point of view on things. He supposed that was part of growing up in Texas. He was raised to believe that they did everything right, and anybody who said different was wrong. Tea was meant to be served with a healthy amount of sugar on fresh ice, and anybody who preferred unsweet tea was crazy.
