Summary
It's 2045. The world has undergone tremendous changes during the past twenty-five years, aided greatly by rapid technological advancement in many fields.
Some things, however, remain a mystery. Like how an American woman, Claire Rakovec has been haunted by specters almost her entire life.
Claire finally decides to look for the truth after a particularly disturbing incident. Her search leads her to Scotland where she meets James MacKenzie, a man whose family has experienced similar hauntings.
They believe the answer lies in several diaries kept by Jamie's ancestors, letters from people who were connected to their family and, the three hundred fifty-year-old family bible kept at a farm in the highlands.
Together, Claire and Jamie unearth a mystery but are hampered by a lack of resource to complete their investigation. And, there's been trouble at the estate as well--problems that seem to have escalated with the introduction of Claire to the MacKenzie family.
They fall in love only to discover more complications than they could have ever expected.
