Summary
Maomao is a second-year PhD student in pharmacognosy who would rather do literally anything than commit to a dissertation topic.
When her advisor forces her to attend a donor symposium, she shows up, judges everyone silently, takes aggressive notes on a bad lecture, and tries to leave early with a glass of wine and a cookie.
When she finds an ethereal stranger with a man bun lurking being the wrong door, she makes a quick escape, but drops her notes.
Jinshi, who was hiding from the event (and everyone in it), picks up the notes—and realizes the one person who ran away from him might be the most interesting one at the event. He resolves to return the notes.
Maomao, meanwhile, would really prefer if he didn't.
