Small groups of survivors rebuild what once was lost and live mostly peaceful lives. The threat of aliens still looms over the survivors as scouts roam around the forgotten areas of the world. This is the story of how Rei and Kazuki, scavengers of this new world, find a child in the rubble and rebuild their lives together.

Olruggio knew, long before it all came crashing down, that he’d made a terrible decision. That the consequences would catch up to him, and there’d be no avoiding a series of potentially world-ending conversations.
He just hadn’t expected it to happen quite so spectacularly.
The initial idea, prompted by a suggestion from an older noblewoman who’d commissioned him for something completely different, wasn’t bad at all. He’d been working on a set of singing stones, and the lady had made an offhanded comment about the potential of magic that could make an object resonate. She’d meant it as a joke, but where she saw humor, Olruggio saw potential—and told her as much.
And just like that, he’d had a commission. And a problem.
