Summary
When he takes a chance on presenting a potential pattern of omegas going missing to his precinct's captain, Jensen Ackles finds himself taking and passing the exam to promote him to detective - the only omega detective on the force. Finding an alpha detective who would accept him as a partner would be a challenge, if Jared Padalecki hadn't just transferred to the same Dallas precinct with a reputation for accepting omegas into the profession. Hesitant to trust any alpha partner, Jensen tries to keep Jared at a distance of just coworker and not friend. As Jared begins to break through his defenses, and Jensen becomes more confident, he finds himself rushing headfirst into danger and becoming a victim himself.
Meanwhile, Jared has just begun to realize that his feelings for Jensen extend beyond friendship when Jensen is abducted during one of their stakeouts. Feeling like he's failed his partner, his sole focus becomes finding Jensen - and the other missing omegas - and bringing him home safely.
