Summary
Dissertation on gender in omegaverse fanfiction, written for my Masters degree in English Language and Linguistics. An analysis of masculine and feminine descriptors of characters in four omegaverse texts (see ‘Inspired by’ section), and discussion of the representation of gender in the omegaverse in the context of other kinds of m/m fanfiction, as well as other forms of erotic fiction. Winner of the 2022 Christian Kay and Michael Samuels Prize for Outstanding MSc Research in English Language & Linguistics at the University of Glasgow. This is an actual dissertation, I'm not doing some elaborate meta thing here.

Or: Peter runs away after Ben dies. After six months of homelessness, he's found and placed with his biological father, who also happens to be his childhood hero, Tony Stark. Add hiding Spider-Man, a dangerous new villain that he's determined to take care of on his own, trying to bond with his father, all while keeping the dark secrets of his past on the streets hidden; Peter has found himself in a very complicated situation.

Tony sits in relative darkness, the TV on mute, Friday running searches like she has been every day for the past month. A month, since Quentin Beck’s grand plan crumpled underneath him on that bridge. A month, since a flash of light was able to distract Peter just as he was about to bring Beck down. A month, since Beck snatched him, since both of them disappeared. An entire. Month.
I’ll keep you updated. I promise.
I love you, kid. Rhodey’s on his way, alright? He’s coming. He’s gonna go as fast as he can.
I love you too. I’ll be okay. I promise. I can do this.
The last thing Tony heard Peter say.
Rhodey, Happy and Fury traversed the London landscape immediately afterwards. They found the glasses, but not Spider-Man. There was footage enough to incriminate Beck for what he was, but somehow, nobody was able to get a shot of when he grabbed Peter. Peter was knocking him around, looked like he was getting the upper hand, and then that flash of light.

Summary
Previously posted under username signofthree. This post-IW fic was written pre-IW, so it is pure speculation based on the trailers. And now, I suppose, a slight AU.
It’s been months since the Avengers defeated Thanos, and Peter’s doing fine. Really. Okay, so he has like, ten times as many villains to fight lately (and what is up with their costumes?). And sure, Tony has barely spoken to him since they got back. And, yeah, the whole coming back from the dead thing is a mind trip. But he’s dealing with it. All things considered, he’s doing a pretty good job of it too.
With everything else that’s going on, a bruise seems like such a little thing that Peter doesn’t pay it any attention, even when it doesn’t fade nearly as fast as it should. It’s just a bruise. It’s no big deal.
Enter an alien virus, throw in some Dr. Strange, inter-dimensional note passing, and a very, very angry Tony Stark, and suddenly it’s not such a little deal anymore.
