The second prequel to Rebirth of Battra: The Destructive Adversary. Before the Vespers, the male dark fairies of Battra awoke, and the Gaea Grid collapsed. Having recently moved from the Philippines to Japan, Mateo struggles to fit in, overwhelmed by the high-tech noise of the Neo-Heisei (Reiwa) era. However, while other local Japanese children ignore the hum of the city, Mateo begins to hear a rhythm beneath the concrete. This drumbeat matches the ancient stories his Lolo (grandfather) told him about the Mandarigma (warriors). A bit, as defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is "a usually short theatrical routine" (n.d.), and has been extended to refer to "a joke, usually amongst a select group of people, played with some sincerity" (Rodrigues, 2014). As they are intended as comical performances, bits are, by nature, intended to flout Grice's Cooperative Principle and four maxims (1975) by conjuring an additional humorous conversational implicature behind the discourse with the intention of eliciting mirth (Andresen, 2013, 4–5). This essay aims to examine the YouTube video "The BAD BOYS Try To Rhyme In LIMITED LIFE.." (Solidarity Shorts, 2023), an excerpt from the Limited Life SMP YouTube series, itself a season of the Life series, as a case study of how Grice's four maxims may be flouted within a bit, which is further extended as a case study to illustrate the importance of humour in the Life series in general.

Love Languages mixes medical drama, cultural exploration, and slice-of-life-esque healing-with-kindness to make a story that unflinching faces the ugly parts of the NoP universe, and answers the question of 'what if we could do something about it'? It is well-founded in understood science and grounds itself and the world it is in solidly because of it, without getting caught on the normal hard-scifi hangups. While the core story is wonderful, it also explores variety by including side stories of people who committed these miseries, and gives us a glimpse into how normality can be different from different perspectives.
