Summary
No longer the Inquisitor, now a member of the Veilguard, Ellana finally locates Solas taking down the Veil. In a change of fate, instead of Varric, Ellana is stabbed in the disrupted ritual. Solas manages to save her life, but this forms a blood bond between the estranged couple.
Now a heart broken former inquisitor and the Dread Wolf must learn to work together to stop the escaped gods.

“If you want me to say that I'm sorry for stopping your ritual, that is never going to happen. What I can apologize for is not doing it sooner.” Ellana said. “You are hardly blameless.”Solas's face was pale, his eyes dark. “I am well aware of my role in recent events. I continue to seek a way to fix what has been broken. And you are not as unwilling to accept my help as you would desire me to think.”
Ellana flushed at his choice of words and from his amused expression she knew that he had intended just such a reaction. What game was he playing?
As if reading her mind Solas asked, “Why does Varric call you Rook?”
Cole answered, “He calls her that as a reminder.”
“A reminder? Of what exactly?” Solas asked.
Ellana explained simply. “That I'm nobody's pawn.”

Summary
"I see. Well, I tend to not act like that around colleagues and students."
"Mh." Rook chuckled. "Otherwise you'd have to fight off horny students with a stick, I guess."
"Oh!" Emmrich exclaimed and relief brightened up his face. "So you know about the serial?"
"What serial?" Rook tilted her head and looked at the stack of unread serials on her table.
"I'm talking about Rogue and Professor Volcaine. You just cited from the scene where they first met."
"You are talking in riddles is what you do." She put her tea down and uncrossed her ankles so she could sit on her knees and lean forward. "What do you mean?"
Or:
At three points during their relationship, Rook and Emmrich talk about a serial Bellara and Neve are writing. About them. -

Summary
In a freak twist of fate, after killing Ghilan’nain and unleashing a lethal amount of magic, Rook does not find herself in the Prison of Regrets. Instead, the magic creates a pseudo-rift and spits her out the other side.
Stuck in the past, she has several options but only one real conclusion: the Inquisition had done fine the first time. They certainly didn’t need her assistance. The fate of the Veil still hung in the balance, and she had vowed to keep it there by any means necessary. Solas had been helpful up to this point, but she’d known he was plotting—scheming to escape his prison.
He had used blood magic on her. He’d hurt Varric. He’d cheerfully kill her given half a chance. This younger version hasn’t done anything yet… and doesn’t know to be wary of her. Rook wasn’t above using him, and then killing him with his back turned.
What was the Dalish saying? May the Dread Wolf take you? Not if Rook took him first.

Summary
The vibration of his voice against her cheek was a soothing balm, each rise and fall of the tune grounding her in the present, anchoring her to him. Though the song he sang was unfamiliar, it carried a sense of nostalgia, as Solas’s fingers traced gentle patterns along her back, mirroring its rhythm.
Only once her heartbeat slowed to match his did Solas’s voice fade into a soft sigh, his lips curving into a contented smile.
“I’ve never heard that tune before," Ellana murmured. "What is it about?”
A glint of mischief accompanied his reply. “An old song I learned in the Fade about Fen’Harel and his lady love.”
She laughed. “Fen’harel hunts alone, Solas. He doesn’t have a lover.”
“Oh, yes he does.” He kissed her, his breath fanning out over her skin. “In this tune, he does.”
