Summary
“Look, I didn’t realize she was going to make so many.” Billy said, exhaling the smoke from his cigarette.
He looked over Jonathan, the lanky super freak that had him interrogated by the government. Sworn to secrecy over his own beating, which was fine, saved his pride a bit. That didn’t stop the persisting anger he found in himself whenever he saw Jonathan. A scowl and name calling would never be sufficient to express the hatred he has for him, it was beyond that at this point.
They were behind the gym, in the designated smoking area. It was the only time they happened to run into each other, a weird connection all smokers had at this school. Teachers and students, bumming cigarettes or lighters off each other. It was a community, all joint together by a tobacco addiction. Though, if Jonathan was there first, he found himself turning the other way and settling to smoke in his car.
Today however, Jonathan was able to corner him after school, forcing them to talk.

Summary
On November 6th, 1983 Jonathan Byers and Barbara Holland disappeared without a trace behind the Byers home in Hawkins, Indiana.
Jonathan Byers was found, but Barbara remains missing.
A year later, Jonathan is on his way to an appointment with Dr. Owen’s at the Hawkins Lab when his car breaks down. His girlfriend Nancy won’t pick up the phone, he is forced to call the only other person that knows the truth…Steve Harrington.
Steve Harrington agreed, picking up Jonathan despite their rocky past. It was this decision that sent Steve Harrington plummeting down the pit of truth who Jonathan Byers is, sparking something within himself he never even knew was there.

“Soooo…” She draws the o out as she tilts her head and rests it on her hand, leaning over the bar counter. “You know Steve, then. Steve Harrington.”
Jonathan hesitates. He could lie. It might even be easy. A simple Steve? Steve, who? would probably be enough to dismiss the idea all together since there’s something about the question that makes Jonathan believe she’s suspicious about the connection in the first place. So he’s not exactly sure why that when he opens his mouth next what comes out is,
“I… I do, yeah.”
