Is he allowed to grieve while he should be celebrating as Rayla introduces her young human friend (boyfriend, he must remember,) bringing along with them a sign for potential peace between Xadia and the human lands?
Was he expected to move on without any real closure or finality to Runann’s death? It was still too early to feel like he wouldn’t be an unfaithful husband by once again parading around as a single, unmarried man, Ethari mused as he pounded the steel on his forge."Or, in the aftermath of season 3, our heroes move on and try and tie up their loose ends. However, with Claudia on the run and Aaravos still at large, making those knots might not be as straightforward as "moving on."

Stunned, Ethari only has time to plead, "please be careful!" before the door slams shut behind her.

Ruthari Week 2020 Day 1
Prompt: Dancing|Moonlight------
Runaan was an assassin, a more than accomplished dancer. After all, that’s what a fight was - a dance. But this moonlit waltz of sorts didn’t have nearly such deadly consequences.
“You dance like a warrior,” Ethari remarked, his fingers brushing Runaan’s hip.
There was no particular reason they were dancing tonight, in what Runaan always thought of as their little wooded grove. Nothing more than a quiet night alone and a love to be in the other’s embrace.
It wasn’t the first time they found themselves stepping to an imagined tune carried by the breeze, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.
------
Moments like this were not especially hard to come by, but that didn't mean Runaan didn't treasure them more than he would a diamond. To have and to hold Ethari, knowing his love for the tinker was matched by only one thing - the tinker's love for him - was all that Runaan wanted for life. So why not make it official?

Ruthari Week 2020 Day 2
Prompt: Glowing/Fading------
As predicted, Ethari had unconsciously - or perhaps consciously, who knew - led them to the glowfly grove.
It was one of his favourite places, and for a good reason. By day, the grove was almost like any other grove. Trees gnarled and twisted with age, weeping their leaves downwards. Long grass, dotted with wildflowers.
But come dusk, the entire grove lit up. Literally.
Hundreds upon thousands of glowflys took to the air, twinkling like stars fallen from above. They would meander in the air, dancing with one another, floating on the breeze, until the sun rose and extinguished their lights.
------
Runaan has never loved anyone more than he has Ethari, and he doubts he ever will. He wants to spend his life at the tinker's side, together. He may be nervous, but he's also excited. Excited for what is to come. All he has to do, is ask.
