Runaan hated long missions. He hadn’t always, in his youth he hadn’t cared the length of the mission, only its success. Now that he had so much family to return to, he hated being away from them for too long. He missed all of them in equal measure - Tiadrin’s foul mouth and caustic humor, Lain’s laugh and kind advice, Ethari’s warm smiles and loving heart, little Rayla’s seriousness and charm. There were times where he missed each of them specifically, though.
Late at nights when he had been too long away and could not find sleep, it was Ethari he missed the most.

Buck held the stare, biting his lips in thought. He couldn’t help but to glance down at Eddie’s. “Yeah,” he said after a while, his voice deeper. “You lost me, Eddie. And it was a choice you made.”
Something similar to a chuckle came out of Eddie’s throat, but they hadn’t been apart long enough for Buck to think he had found something funny. No, Eddie was angry. “There isn’t an inch of you that doesn’t belong to me.”
OR: divorced buddie meets again after five years - or so. (includes rage sex, and an eddie with hidden intentions).
