Summary
This is the short story of two m̶o̶r̶o̶n̶s̶ twin souls properly meeting in a different lifetime. Love that for them! Way to go, team.
I know this sucks but it's been hanging out in the back of my head for months, and I can't resist.

Summary
Stanley is an ordinary man, so ordinary that even magic doesn't really affect him. Siren songs are easy to resist, calls to adventure barely stir in his chest, and the most interesting thing about him is how he lives in a lighthouse.
But everything changes when a selkie comes to his door, promising to devour him if Stanley ever wanders into the water. And yet, the bloodthirsty sealkie still craves human company, and Stanley finds himself drawn in by the creature's stories. More and more, he finds himself drawn into the dangerous waves. The selkie's eyes hold a magic that even he can't resist, the mundane transformed by the siren call of the unknown. As the selkie's stories continue to wind their beguiling thread, Stanley stands at the precipice of a decision that could forever change his life.

Summary
Vincent Carlisle, 56, is a successful and well-known author who by some untimely coincidence finds himself driving alone on a winding mountain road late one night. It's a decision made on a whim, and a bad one at that; he doesn't know the area at all, no one knows where he is, and he's had perhaps a bit more wine than is wise. It doesn't help that the weather is changing, and blizzards tend to come on without warning in these parts.
But what's the worst that could happen?
As it turns out, something much, much worse than just a simple accident, a car driven off the road and overturned in a growing snowdrift. Maybe, if Vincent were more fortunate, he might have died right then and there. But no, there's someone else out at this time of night; someone who notices, someone who's just in time to help. Someone who—upon discovering the unconscious and badly injured form of his very favourite author in the wrecked car—simply can't believe his luck.
After all, he's Vincent's number one fan.

Summary
Stanley has a chokehold over the Narrator in the way a car crash has a chokehold over its bystanders. Stanley has a certain je ne sais quoi that is thus far baffling even the most eccentric of the Narrator’s existing thespian friends. Stanley has brown hair, and brown eyes, and a face that’s bland at a glance, and a good few inches over the Narrator (although most people do, so this isn’t much to comment on).
Stanley has many things, likely including some kind of a neurodivergence, and likely not including a fear of any god.
Today, he also has a bucket.
The Narrator is a director. Stanley is an actor. The Bucket is a bucket, but it’s so much more than that.
In which the Narrator meets the most fascinatingly boring thespian that anyone’s ever seen, and Stanley causes mayhem, as Stanley is wont to do.
