Summary
Unlike humans, Vuldarians undergo a conditional bi-annual reproductive cycle. These cycles are when fertility and viability is at its highest, as well as the drive to copulate being much stronger than usual. In Vuldarian history, this phenomenon is known primarily as a “heat" or "rut", with these terms often being used interchangeably.
Seven months into a committed relationship with Michael, Guy wakes up with a fever. Things escalate from there.

“What was that all about, dude? Since when are you a fan of Spider-man?”
“I just think he’s cool,” Will had shrugged, “and that guy’s an idiot. He’s just jealous that Spider-man pulls more than he does.”And, well… that was just untrue. But he wasn’t about to let Will know that.
“You think he pulls?”“I mean, it’d be weird if he didn’t,” Will had laughed, “have you seen the way the dude’s built? Plus he has the whole ‘superhero’ thing going for him, right? People usually find that hot.”
His tone was casual, but the blush had not budged from his face.
“Yeah,” Mack had simply agreed, giddyness bubbling in his chest, “you’re probably right.”
Will thought he was cool. Will found him attractive. No, hot.

Summary
The ice in Mack’s untouched drink had long since melted when another shadow fell across his lounge chair. He didn’t bother looking up—whoever it was could fuck right off—until the voice hit his ears like a cheese grater. "Yo, Mack, where’s your shadow at?"
“Not fucking here,” Mack growled, shoving his sunglasses up with enough force to leave a red mark on the bridge of his nose. The shadow belonged to Misa who Mack normally found delightful—except today, when he existed within five feet of him while not being Will.
Or Mack has to go to a pool party while Will is filming a brand deal and Mack makes it everyone else’s problem.
